Welcome to my blog!!

Hi everyone!

My name is Monica.  I am a health and fitness junkie convert.  I used to weigh almost 200 lbs!! Talk about a scary number to see on the scale.  I have since lost almost fifty pounds!  My journey has been a long one.  I started gaining weight in high school.  My junior and senior year were struggles to say the least.  I LOVE food and you could tell.  I was active in sports and activities but it wasn't enough to keep up with my eating habits.  These terrible habits continued into college where they paired up with the party lifestyle.  I was the master yo-yo dieter.  I gained and lost the same fifteen pounds countless times.  The real change started when I met my boyfriend (who is now my husband of just over a year!).  I wanted to feel confident when I was with him.  My whole life is clouded by self consciousness but he motivated me to change.  I started working out the summer we met with Beachbody products.  I started with Turbo Jam and ChaLean extreme.  Yes I missed some workouts and yes my diet was far from perfect.  Despite this I managed to loose about 25 pounds.  The start of my junior year of college was approaching and I wanted to continue seeing results but I let the duties of nursing school derail me.  I fortunately didn't gain any weight back but shortly after my motivation returned.  I started back up with ChaLean extreme and Turbo Jam.  I lost another 10 pounds.  My diet at this point consisted of counting calories and just including the junk I was eating in my calorie count.  This way of eating continued on for the next two years.  My weight stayed around the same number (155 on my 5'9" frame) even through programs like Turbo Fire and Insanity.  I have been eating clean for several weeks now and am already down 7 more pounds!!  I am currently at the point where I am trying to become lean and toned.  I am moving on to a new to me Beachbody program called Body Beast!  Looking forward to some great results!
